1. Who you bought from
Purchases on BoardRemix are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as merchant of record for BootStartUp R&D LTD (company no. 516064441). Paddle is the seller shown on your receipt and card statement, and it processes refunds. Paddle’s own buyer terms apply alongside this policy, and Paddle may issue a refund at its own discretion in circumstances this policy does not cover.
You can ask either of us. Writing to support@boardremix.com is usually faster, because we can see what your account actually used.
2. Fourteen days to change your mind
If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or anywhere else with an equivalent right, you may cancel a purchase within 14 days of buying it and get your money back.
There is a catch that applies to all digital content, and it is worth understanding before you buy. At checkout you are asked to confirm that you want access immediately, and to acknowledge that doing so ends your right to withdraw once we have delivered. If you tick that box and then use what you bought, the 14-day right no longer covers the part you used. It still covers everything you have not used — see the sections below for exactly where that line falls.
If you have not used anything, the 14 days apply in full, no questions asked and no reason required.
3. Subscription plans
You can cancel a monthly or annual plan at any time from your billing page. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not end the period you have already paid for. You keep everything the plan gives you until that period runs out, and then the free plan’s limits apply.
- Within 14 days of your first payment — refundable in full if you have not consumed any of the plan’s credits and have not hosted a game night on it.
- Renewals — we do not charge for a renewal you did not want and did not use. If a renewal took you by surprise, write to us within 14 days and we will refund it, provided the new period is substantially unused.
- Part-used periods — we do not refund a period pro-rata once you are into it.
4. Credits and top-ups
Credits are consumed one action at a time, and every consumption is recorded against your account. That makes the line here exact rather than a judgement call:
- Unused credits from a top-up are refundable within 14 days of the purchase.
- Consumed credits are not refundable. The AI work you spent them on has been done and paid for on our side.
- If you spent only part of a top-up, we refund the part you did not spend.
If credits were consumed by something that plainly failed — a compile that produced a game the system itself judged unplayable, a referee that never answered — that is not a consumption we keep. Tell us and we will return them. A compile we discard as failed is not charged to you in the first place.
5. Games and game packs
This is the part most people are asking about, so it is stated plainly. A game you buy — individually or in a pack — is refundable within 14 days until it has been played.
A game counts as played once all of the following are true:
- you hosted it in a room;
- at least one other person joined that room as a player; and
- the game night reached its end.
At that point the thing you bought has been delivered in full: an evening at a table with other people, which is the entire product. We cannot take it back, so we do not refund it.
Everything short of that line is still refundable. Opening a game, reading its rulebook, previewing the board, hosting a room nobody joined, or trying it out on your own — none of those count as playing it, and none of them cost you the refund. If a game turns out not to be what you wanted, find that out before game night and you are covered.
This applies per game. Playing one game from a pack does not make the rest of the pack non-refundable.
6. When something is actually broken
The rules above are about changing your mind. They are not a shield against our own failures. If you paid for something and it did not work — the service was down for your game night, a purchase did not appear in your account, you were charged twice, or a game was taken down for reasons that were not yours — we refund it, and the sections above do not apply.
Nothing in this policy limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
7. How to ask
Email support@boardremix.com from the address on your account, with your Paddle receipt or order number and one line about what you want refunded. You do not need to give a reason within the 14-day window.
We answer within 5 business days. An approved refund is returned by Paddle to the original payment method, and usually lands within 5–10 business days after that, depending on your bank. If we decline, we will tell you which part of this policy applies and why.
8. Chargebacks
Please write to us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback is slower for you than an email is, and it suspends the account while it is open. If you have a real problem we will almost certainly just fix it.
Repeated chargebacks, or refunds requested in a pattern that shows the games were bought to be played and then returned, can lead us to decline future refunds or close the account under our Terms of Service.
